You can find me at a local farmer's market. You can find me on Saturdays and Sundays at Gilbert's Corner farmer's market 10:00 am - 3:30 pm. You can order through our website/online store and pick up a special treat while you are at the market. This is the recommended way to pick up your order.
If you need to pick up your order Thursday - Friday, you can make an appointment and pick it up at ChefScape communal kitchens in Leesburg between 11am - 2pm (on average). I'm in a shared kitchen with a lot of other talented chefs and caterers, so I'll meet you at the back door near the smoker so that you can get your order. Just text me when you are 5 minutes away, or when you arrive if you don't mind waiting.
History - Little Apple Pastry Shop was a mother and daughter owned business up until 2021 when Margaret retired. Now Kay proudly continues the legacy that Little Apple Pastry shop has been building since 1988. This cute bakery was located in the heart of the village of Aldie and is a proud member of the community! Kay has lived in the village her whole life and it is a dream come true to have this bakery in a much beloved location. Sadly, the bakery had to move by the end of 2023. Kay is now in a private kitchen and selling from the online store and from local farmer's markets. We do not have a store front any longer.
We work with local suppliers to source the freshest ingredients and use old-fashioned, tried and true techniques to ensure the highest quality. Our goal is to make your tastebuds happy!
Most of our business is by special order and you should try to order at least a week in advance of your event, however, it's okay to try for less notice, because we know that life happens. The notice for holiday orders is at least two weeks.
"If I feel like I can't do the best job possible for you, then I won't take more orders than I can handle. We have, and always will, believe that quality is more important than quantity. "
-Kay
2024 - In 2023 I lost my husband of 35 years and then lost my lease for the bakery to new property owners in the same year. It's a whole new life and I'm learning to accept and adjust to my new normal. Personal and business lives have changed! I'm doing the best I can, and I hope that you understand why I can't keep going the way I was. My menu was getting too large, and it was getting harder to keep up with everything. My business was growing, and I wasn't because I refused to compromise on quality for the sake of quantity.
I also have physical limitations that are keeping me from making and decorating cakes. But don't worry, there are a lot of bakers around who love doing cakes! And they decorate much better than I can. So, I'll be sticking to what I do best, pies and cookies! They will have limited flavors as well.
Our menu features a variety of sweet treats, all made from scratch with the freshest ingredients. From our signature pies and cookies to a few select pastries. Browse our menu and place your order today.
Our menu has been downsized to a manageable number of products that we offer. If you have been a customer for a long time, you will notice there are some things missing. I'm sorry about that. I just can't be all things to all people. I have to take care of myself now.
Good news, I am making good progress on the cookbook that I've been working on for years. I hope to have it finished by late Summer or early Fall. The first one will contain my secret recipes for some of the items that I'm not producing in the bakery any longer. I've downsized them to a household size so you can make it at home. Some of these recipes will include Thanksgiving Dinner Pie, Spicy Jambalaya, Pimento Cheese, some cakes, and Kay's Spicy Mustard. There will be at least 50 recipes that you know and a few new ones for you to try. I have so many recipes that I will have to have more than one cookbook. I will keep the first one simple and see how that goes. UPDATE - 7/3/2024 It's coming together and I'm getting excited about finishing the book!
It's been a real waiting game. This process should have taken about 8 - 10 weeks. It's been longer than that. First, I had to find a location. Did that. I had to fill out a lot of paperwork to apply for a "new" business. Then I had to submit recipes with volume and weight measurements. This included every single thing that I want to make and sell. This step helped me to cut my menu down to just a few select items. I've had to re-do all of my labels. Every label has to be formatted exactly the right way. This was not an easy process, even though I've been in business for the last 35 1/2 years. Moving changed all of that. Now that it's complete, I believe that my business will be better than ever. I'm ready to move forward.

I will NOT be taking orders for holidays. I will make what I can, and it will be first come, first served at the Farmer's Market at Gilbert's Corner on Saturdays and Sundays. I suggest you buy early and freeze your pie.
